How this project is maintained

Roughly one issue in three opened in the past year never receives a reply. 98% of open issues come from outside the core team, so the backlog reflects real-world use rather than internal planning. Work labelled "risk:low" is answered fastest, typically in about 10 hours, while "risk: low" waits about 4 days. Almost all tracked open issues have seen activity in the last three months. Only 57% of issues opened in the past year have been closed.

Detailed Description

Securo is a self-hosted personal finance manager that prioritizes user privacy and data ownership.

The tool addresses the problem of financial data being collected and monetized by third-party finance applications. Securo runs entirely on your own infrastructure, keeping all transaction records, account information, and spending patterns under your control. It provides multi-account management with running balances, transaction search and filtering, CSV export capabilities, and file import support for formats including OFX, QIF, CAMT, and CSV. The platform includes an auto-categorization rules engine, recurring transaction and budget tracking, asset management with valuation tracking, and financial reports covering net worth and income versus expenses. Bank synchronization is available through multiple providers depending on your region, and the tool supports multiple currencies with automatic foreign exchange conversion.

Securo suits individuals and households who want complete control over their financial data and prefer not to rely on cloud-based finance services. It works well for anyone comfortable self-hosting applications, as it requires running on your own infrastructure via Docker or Podman. The project includes multi-user support with administrative controls, two-factor authentication, and OIDC login integration for enterprise identity providers. An optional AI agent feature allows self-hosted language model interactions with your financial data.

The project maintains active continuous integration with automated testing coverage tracking. Development activity shows regular updates to the codebase with consistent attention to both backend and frontend components. The maintainers engage directly with users through community channels and provide accessible documentation alongside the self-hosted deployment options.
