Detailed Description

NonSteamLaunchers on Steam Deck is a launcher installation tool that automates setup of game distribution platforms and compatibility layers on Valve's handheld device.

The tool solves the problem of manually configuring multiple game launchers on Steam Deck by automating their installation into a single Proton prefix folder and integrating them into the Steam library. It bundles the latest UMU and GE-Proton compatibility layers alongside support for numerous third-party game platforms including Battle.net, Epic Games, Ubisoft, GOG, EA App, Amazon Games, itch.io, Legacy Games, The Humble Games Collection, IndieGala, Rockstar Games Launcher, PlayStation Plus, Glyph, VKPlay, HoYoPlay, Waydroid, and games stored on SD cards. By consolidating these installations under one prefix, the tool reduces configuration complexity and makes multiple launchers accessible directly from Steam's interface.

This tool is suited for Steam Deck users who want to play games from multiple storefronts without manually configuring each launcher's Proton settings. It is particularly valuable for players with large libraries spread across different platforms who would otherwise need to manage separate prefix folders and launch configurations. The breadth of supported launchers makes it applicable to users with diverse gaming interests across mainstream and independent distribution channels.

The project shows active development with regular updates to maintain compatibility as new versions of UMU and GE-Proton are released. The tool is written in Python, making it accessible for community contributions and modifications. The project maintains a sponsorship page, indicating ongoing investment in its maintenance and feature expansion.
