1 person did triage or write work on this repository in the last 12 months.

Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

Flowblade is a multitrack non-linear video editor for Linux that allows users to compose movies from video clips, audio clips, and graphics files with professional-grade editing capabilities.

The tool addresses the need for a capable video editing solution on Linux by providing a compositor-based workflow where clips can be cut at desired frames, filters applied, and multilayer composite images created. It supports up to 21 combined video and audio tracks and offers six editing tools with four methods for inserting, overwriting, or appending clips to the timeline. The editor includes over 50 image filters covering color correction, effects, distortion, and motion work, alongside 30+ audio filters with keyframed volume mixing. Advanced features include a media generator plugin framework for animated text and backgrounds, a G'Mic tool for complex effects, a dedicated text tool with shadow and outline capabilities, batch encoding for multiple outputs, and support for USB Shuttle playback control devices.

Flowblade suits Linux-based video production workflows where users need access to standard compositing operations, blend modes, and pattern wipes without requiring proprietary software. The project supports most common video and audio formats depending on installed codecs, handles JPEG, PNG, TGA, TIFF, and SVG graphics, and can work with numbered frame sequences. Output encoding leverages FFmpeg with GPU acceleration options through Vaapi and NVENC encoders, allowing users to define rendering parameters directly.

Development activity shows consistent maintenance with regular releases and documented roadmap planning. The project maintains comprehensive documentation including FAQ, known issues, and release notes. The codebase is written in Python and actively receives updates to address user needs and expand capabilities.
