Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

Key Promoter X is an IntelliJ plugin that teaches keyboard shortcuts by displaying them when you use the mouse to click buttons in the IDE.

The plugin solves the problem of learning keyboard shortcuts through passive discovery. When you click a button with the mouse in IntelliJ-based IDEs, the tool displays a non-intrusive notification showing the keyboard shortcut you could have used instead. This approach lets developers gradually transition from mouse-driven workflows to keyboard-centric ones by making the cost of not knowing shortcuts immediately visible. The plugin tracks toolbar buttons, menu actions, tool windows, and actions within those windows.

The tool suits developers who want to improve their IDE efficiency without disrupting their current workflow. Since notifications appear only after mouse clicks you already make, there is no friction in adoption. The plugin includes features for customizing shortcuts through notification links, creating new shortcuts for buttons that lack them, maintaining a persistent list of missed shortcuts in a tool window, and suppressing tips for shortcuts you deliberately choose not to use. It works across IntelliJ IDEA, Android Studio, CLion, and other IntelliJ-based IDEs.

The project maintains active build automation with passing continuous integration checks. Development activity shows consistent engagement with the codebase through regular updates to the build pipeline.
