Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

go-ceph is a collection of Go bindings for Ceph APIs that enables developers to call native Ceph C functions directly from Go code.

The project solves the problem of integrating Ceph storage functionality into Go applications without shelling out to command-line tools. It wraps Ceph's native C libraries—librados, librbd, libcephfs, and the RadosGW admin API—using Go's cgo feature to expose their functionality through idiomatic Go packages. This approach allows Go developers to access both I/O operations and management functions provided by Ceph directly through native function calls rather than spawning external processes.

Adoption is suitable for Go projects that currently depend on Ceph command-line tools and want to replace those subprocess calls with native library bindings. The tool requires that Ceph's native libraries and development headers be installed on both the build system and any system running the resulting binaries, since the bindings use dynamic linking and cannot produce fully static executables. Different Ceph versions require different build tags to ensure compatibility, as some functions are version-specific or deprecated. The project provides installation guidance for Debian, RPM-based, and macOS systems, and includes a quick test command to verify that your system can build with go-ceph.

The project maintains active engagement with its codebase through regular updates and refinements to the bindings. Development includes ongoing work to expand API coverage across Ceph's feature set, with attention paid to supporting multiple Ceph versions through conditional compilation. The maintainers respond to integration challenges by documenting version-specific requirements and providing clear build instructions for different platforms.
