Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

AWX Operator is a Kubernetes operator that automates the deployment and lifecycle management of Ansible AWX instances within a cluster.

The operator solves the problem of managing AWX installations on Kubernetes by encapsulating deployment logic into a Kubernetes-native operator built with Operator SDK and Ansible. Rather than requiring manual configuration steps, the operator watches for AWX custom resources and handles provisioning, updates, and day-two operations automatically within the same namespace where it is deployed.

Teams running Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters who need to operate AWX should consider this operator. It is suited for organizations that want AWX managed declaratively through Kubernetes resources rather than through imperative scripts or manual processes. The project provides a Helm chart as an alternative installation method for those preferring that approach.

The project maintains active community engagement through the Ansible Forum as its primary communication channel, with dedicated spaces for help requests and project-specific discussions. Real-time collaboration happens over Matrix in dedicated channels for AWX and documentation topics. The operator includes comprehensive documentation and a development guide to support contributors setting up their environment and submitting changes.
