It integrates with music services including Apple Music, Spotify, and Cider, showing inline previews of currently playing content. The interface uses native SwiftUI animations and stays minimized until the user needs it, then expands responsively. The notch can be controlled through gestures for opening and closing, and supports parallax hover interactions.
Atoll suits users with notched MacBooks who want quick access to media playback controls and system metrics without dedicating screen real estate to persistent widgets. The application provides live activities for media playback, Focus modes, screen recording, privacy indicators, and battery status. It also includes lock screen widgets for media, timers, charging status, Bluetooth devices, and weather information. Beyond media, it offers lightweight system monitoring for CPU, GPU, memory, network, and disk usage, along with productivity tools like timers, clipboard history, a color picker, and calendar previews. Users can customize layouts, animations, hover behavior, and shortcut remapping to suit their workflow. The tool requires macOS 14.0 or later and is optimized for macOS 15 and newer, with support limited to MacBooks featuring a notch.
