How this project is maintained

Around half of the issues opened in the past year never receive a reply. 100% of open issues come from outside the core team, so the backlog reflects real-world use rather than internal planning. 88% of tracked open issues have had no activity in three months, so the open count overstates what is actively being worked. Only 7% of issues opened in the past year have been closed.

Detailed Description

ZyperWin++ is a lightweight Windows optimization tool for Windows 7 through Windows 11 that performs system performance tuning, service optimization, garbage cleanup, system activation, and Office installation.

The tool addresses the need for efficient system maintenance across multiple Windows versions. It works by providing a batch optimization interface where users can select specific optimization tasks before execution, with descriptions for each optimization item to clarify its effects. The interface uses AntDUI for visual polish and is built on .NET 4 with C#, requiring no additional runtime libraries on Windows 8 and later. It includes features for disabling Windows Defender without third-party tools, importing and exporting optimization configurations for personalized workflows, automatic configuration saving for reverting changes if needed, aggressive Edge uninstallation, garbage cleanup with progress display, rapid Office installation via automated download and setup, and Appx application management.

The tool suits users maintaining personal computers or classroom machines who want a compact utility for quick system optimization without bundled software. It is designed for those comfortable with batch optimization workflows and who value the ability to preview and selectively apply changes before committing them. The small package size makes it practical for distributing across multiple machines.

Development activity shows attention to user interface refinement, with fixes for window minimization flickering and improvements to the optimization workflow clarity compared to earlier versions. The project incorporates user feedback mechanisms through dedicated feedback channels and actively addresses reported issues. Configuration management features demonstrate iterative enhancement of the optimization experience, allowing users to save and restore their preferred settings.
