Detailed Description

InstallerX Revived is an Android package installer that replaces the system installer with a modern interface and expanded capabilities.

The tool addresses the limitations of stock and OEM package installers by offering support for multiple package formats including APK, APKS, APKM, XAPK, and batched installations. It provides flexible installation workflows ranging from dialog-based to silent automatic installation, with the ability to leverage different privilege escalation methods: Shizuku for faster shell or root access, Root for complete privileged operations, Dhizuku for device policy management, or standard system package manager mode. The core innovation is its configurable installation profiles, which let users define how installation requests are handled, including choice of authorizer, install mode, target user, split selection, and signature verification policies.

Developers and power users managing multiple Android devices or needing fine-grained control over app installation should consider this tool. It suits environments where the default installer is inadequate or where batch installation and advanced permission handling are required. The project explicitly positions itself as a community-maintained continuation of the original InstallerX, offering a modern Material 3 interface with support for dynamic color, dark mode, and platform-specific styling like Xiaomi HyperOS island notifications on compatible devices. It supports Android SDK 34 through 37 with full feature availability, and degrades gracefully on older versions down to SDK 26.

The project maintains active development with regular alpha builds and continuous integration workflows. Documentation is comprehensive and hosted separately, covering installation, advanced configuration, system integration paths, and frequently asked questions. The tool is distributed through stable releases, alpha builds, and CI artifacts, with community communication occurring through a dedicated Telegram channel.
