How this project is maintained

Roughly one issue in four opened in the past year never receives a reply. 100% of open issues come from outside the core team, so the backlog reflects real-world use rather than internal planning. Almost all tracked open issues have seen activity in the last three months. 69% of issues opened in the past year have been closed, leaving a working backlog. Three people close 97% of everything that gets resolved.

Detailed Description

Tutti is a multi-user, multi-agent real-time collaboration space that lets people and AI agents work together in a shared workspace.

The problem Tutti solves is the coordination overhead that emerges when multiple AI agents need to work on interconnected tasks. When one agent finishes work that another needs to continue, developers become messengers—manually copying context, pasting documentation, re-explaining decisions, and shuttling files between tools. Tutti's approach is to provide a unified workspace where context, files, apps, and tasks are all connected and visible to both human users and agents simultaneously, eliminating the need for manual handoffs and repeated explanations.

The open-source version allows connecting existing agents and using existing subscription credits with built-in apps. The hosted VM version adds multi-user collaboration, group chat, simultaneous editing, agent borrowing, cross-device access, and no-deploy sharing. Developers should choose Tutti if they work with multiple AI agents on projects requiring coordination, or if they want to collaborate with others on agent-driven workflows. The open-source version suits local-first use cases where you control your own agents; the VM version is designed for teams that need to share agents and work together in real time without deployment complexity.

The project maintains both an open-source codebase and an early-access hosted service. Development is active across multiple concerns including agent orchestration, real-time synchronization, and desktop application stability. The team engages with the community through Discord for feedback and contributions, and welcomes pull requests and issue reports on the GitHub repository.
