Detailed Description

Solaar is a Linux device manager for Logitech wireless and wired peripherals that connect via Unifying, Bolt, Lightspeed, or Nano receivers as well as USB and Bluetooth connections.

Logitech devices send special messages that the standard Linux input system ignores. Solaar responds to these messages to unlock device-specific functionality beyond basic input handling. The tool operates as a userspace manager rather than a kernel driver, allowing it to handle pairing, unpairing, device configuration, custom button mapping, and rule-based automation triggered by device messages.

Solaar suits users with Logitech keyboards, mice, and other peripherals who need to configure device-specific settings or automate actions based on device events on Linux. The project maintains a graphical interface for managing connected devices and a rule editor for creating custom automations.
