Detailed Description

This repository is no longer active for development. The README contains a prominent warning that Processing development has moved to a separate repository, processing/processing4, following the release of Processing 3.5.4 in January 2020. The move was undertaken to clean out accumulated files from two decades of project history.

Users encountering bugs or wishing to request features should open issues in the new repository rather than here. The original repository serves as an archive of the Processing Development Environment source code, core libraries, and included tools up to version 3.5.4, but it is not the location for ongoing work or active maintenance.

Anyone considering this repository should understand it represents a historical snapshot. Active development, bug fixes, and new features occur exclusively in the successor repository. This archive may be useful for reference or understanding the evolution of the project, but it should not be used as a basis for new work or contributions.

The project shows no active development activity in this repository, as all ongoing work has been consolidated elsewhere by design.
