How this project is maintained

Around half of the issues opened in the past year never receive a reply. 100% of open issues come from outside the core team, so the backlog reflects real-world use rather than internal planning. Work labelled "design-token" is answered fastest, typically in under an hour, while "Status: Discussion" waits about 3 weeks. 88% of tracked open issues have had no activity in three months, so the open count overstates what is actively being worked. Only 6% of issues opened in the past year have been closed.

Detailed Description

PrimeVue is a Vue UI component library that provides a comprehensive set of pre-built components for building user interfaces in Vue applications.

The library addresses the need for a consistent, feature-rich set of UI components by offering a collection of ready-to-use elements including data tables, date pickers, grids, select dropdowns, trees, and other common interface patterns. Developers can integrate these components directly into their Vue projects to accelerate development and maintain visual consistency across applications.

PrimeVue suits projects of any scale that benefit from a mature component library with extensive functionality. Teams building Vue applications with Nuxt can leverage the library's integration capabilities. The tool is particularly valuable for applications requiring complex data presentation components like tables and trees, or those needing a full suite of form controls and UI elements out of the box.

The project is no longer under active development and receives security fixes only. Development has transitioned to PrimeUI, which serves as the new home for active work, new releases, and future enhancements. Existing MIT-licensed versions remain available under the MIT license indefinitely, and security updates continue to be published for these releases. The repository's issues are read-only, with bug reports and feature requests directed to PrimeUI instead.
