1 person did triage or write work on this repository in the last 12 months.

Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

How this project is maintained

Work labelled "question" is answered fastest, typically in under an hour, while "announcement" waits about 6 weeks. Three people close 84% of everything that gets resolved.

Detailed Description

node-oracledb is a database driver for Node.js that connects JavaScript and TypeScript applications to Oracle Database.

The tool solves the problem of integrating Oracle Database with Node.js applications by providing a native add-on that handles database connectivity and operations. It operates in two modes: a Thin mode that connects directly to Oracle Database without requiring additional client libraries, and a Thick mode that loads optional Oracle Client libraries to access advanced Oracle Database functionality. The driver supports both basic and advanced database features including SQL and PL/SQL execution, fast data ingestion, NoSQL-style document APIs, message queueing, database notifications, and high availability and security features. Database operations can optionally be pipelined for performance optimization.

Developers should choose this tool if they are building Node.js or TypeScript applications that need to connect to Oracle Database. The Thin mode makes it suitable for applications where installing Oracle Client libraries is impractical, requiring only Oracle Database 12.1 or later. The Thick mode provides access to more advanced Oracle Database functionality but requires Oracle Client libraries and supports Oracle Database 11.2 or later depending on the client version. The driver is used by JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks, SQL generators, ORMs, and libraries, making it a foundational choice for Oracle Database integration in the Node.js ecosystem.

The project is maintained directly by Oracle Corporation and is described as stable and well documented with a comprehensive test suite. The tool has a rich feature set designed to be easy to use while giving developers control over statement execution and database operations. Community contributions are welcomed through a formal contribution guide, and security vulnerabilities are handled through a documented responsible disclosure process.
