Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

Policy Reporter is a monitoring and observability tool for the PolicyReport custom resource definition in Kubernetes.

Policy Reporter addresses the challenge of tracking and visualizing policy compliance across Kubernetes clusters by consuming PolicyReport resources and exposing their data through multiple observability channels. The tool works by monitoring PolicyReport CRDs, extracting policy evaluation results, and making that information available via Prometheus metrics, an optional web UI, and integrations with external systems like Grafana. This approach allows operators to see policy violations and compliance status in real time without building custom monitoring solutions.

The tool suits teams running Kyverno or other policy engines that generate PolicyReport resources and want centralized visibility into policy compliance. It is particularly valuable for organizations already invested in Prometheus and Grafana stacks, as it provides native metric export that integrates seamlessly with those platforms. The optional UI offers a dedicated dashboard for policy compliance without requiring external visualization tools, making it accessible for teams with simpler observability needs. Policy Reporter can be installed via Helm, simplifying deployment in Kubernetes environments.

The project maintains active development with regular updates to its CI pipeline and documentation. The codebase is written in Go and includes comprehensive test coverage. The project provides official Helm charts for installation and maintains detailed documentation covering setup and configuration options.
