Detailed Description

grunt-cli is a command line interface that provides global access to the Grunt task runner.

The tool solves the problem of version management when running Grunt tasks across different projects. Rather than installing Grunt globally, which can cause version conflicts, grunt-cli acts as a lightweight global wrapper that discovers and executes the version of Grunt installed locally in each project. This approach ensures that each project runs the task automation version it was designed for, regardless of what other versions may be installed elsewhere on the system.

Developers should install grunt-cli globally to enable the `grunt` command from anywhere on their system, but the actual Grunt task runner should be installed locally within each project. Alternatively, for projects following the standard Node.js workflow, grunt-cli can be installed locally as a dev dependency and invoked through npm scripts in package.json, allowing `npm test` or similar commands to run Grunt tasks without requiring a global installation. The tool also supports shell tab auto-completion for Bash and Zsh environments.

The project maintains active continuous integration testing across both Linux and Windows platforms. Development activity shows consistent attention to cross-platform compatibility and reliability.
