Detailed Description

GraphQL WG is a working group that coordinates discussion and decision-making among maintainers of widely-used GraphQL libraries, tools, and community contributors.

The working group exists to evaluate and agree upon proposed additions to the GraphQL Specification through a formal RFC process. Beyond specification work, the group discusses and collaborates on technical topics relevant to core GraphQL projects. The repository serves as the central archive for meeting agendas, notes, and shared RFC documents, allowing anyone in the public GraphQL community to review past discussions and propose agenda items for upcoming meetings.

Participation requires signing the Specification Membership Agreement or belonging to a member organization. The group holds recurring virtual meetings scheduled to accommodate different time zones: a primary monthly meeting and secondary meetings for Europe and Asia Pacific regions. Anyone may attend and propose agenda items by editing upcoming meeting agendas. The repository makes it straightforward to join by providing guidance on the process and maintaining a calendar of scheduled meetings.

The project maintains active meeting schedules with documented agendas and comprehensive notes from past sessions. The repository includes tooling to generate agenda files for upcoming months, indicating ongoing operational structure. Subcommittees within the working group focus on specific projects beyond the specification itself and report their progress back to the main group meetings.
