Detailed Description

Steam Achievement Manager is a lightweight desktop application for managing achievements and statistics in Steam games.

The tool solves the problem of manually tracking or modifying achievement progress by providing a direct interface to Steam's achievement system. It works by connecting to the Steam client while it is running and logged in, allowing users to view, unlock, or lock achievements and modify associated statistics for games in their library. The application is portable and requires only the Steam client, a Steam account, and network access to function.

The tool suits players who want to experiment with achievement states, test achievement systems in their own games, or manage their achievement progress outside the normal gameplay flow. It is a straightforward utility with no complex configuration; users simply launch it, select a game, and modify achievements as needed. The project is particularly useful for game developers testing achievement implementations or for players interested in achievement curation.

The codebase has undergone general maintenance to modernize it from its original 2008 release, with icon assets replaced and the version bumped to reflect the open-source transition. The project is made available as-is for community use and modification, with the original closed-source releases no longer actively maintained.
