Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

Agent Skills is a collection of reusable skills that enable AI agents to function as GitOps engineers with expertise in Flux CD, Kubernetes, and GitOps practices.

The tool addresses the challenge of giving AI agents practical capability to work with Flux CD and Kubernetes by bundling domain-specific skills that handle manifest generation, Flux troubleshooting, repository auditing, security validation, and debugging of live cluster installations. The skills work together, with the agent automatically selecting the appropriate skill based on context: gitops-knowledge for answering questions and generating manifests, gitops-repo-audit for validating repository structure and security, and gitops-cluster-debug for troubleshooting live clusters. The skills integrate with a Kubernetes Ecosystem Schema Catalog MCP server that provides the agent access to JSON schemas and field indexes for core Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native projects, enabling accurate manifest generation and validation.

Adoption requires several prerequisites: the flux CLI, flux-schema plugin, kustomize, and flux-operator-mcp for cluster debugging. Installation varies by agent platform. For Claude Code, Copilot CLI, and Codex, the skills install as plugins with automatic schema server configuration. For other agents supporting the conventional .agents/skills path, installation via Flux CLI or NPX is available. The tool is most suitable for teams using Flux CD who want AI agents to assist with GitOps workflows, manifest authoring, repository validation, and cluster troubleshooting. The project explicitly positions these as the official AI Skills for Flux CD, developed by the Flux project maintainers, and actively solicits user feedback on accuracy, usefulness, and gaps.

Development activity shows the project maintains active engagement with users through issue tracking for improvement suggestions and new skill requests. The maintainers provide installation documentation across multiple agent platforms and include a Brewfile for simplified prerequisite setup on macOS. The project integrates closely with complementary infrastructure like the Flux Schema Catalog and Flux Operator, indicating coordinated development within the broader Flux ecosystem.
