How this project is maintained

About 13% of issues opened in the past year have never received a reply. 100% of open issues come from outside the core team, so the backlog reflects real-world use rather than internal planning. 84% of tracked open issues have had no activity in three months, so the open count overstates what is actively being worked. Only 15% of issues opened in the past year have been closed.

Detailed Description

EchoBird is a desktop application that manages multiple AI service accounts and routes requests across different language models with automatic failover.

The tool addresses the fragmentation of AI services by consolidating account management for ChatGPT, Codex CLI, and Claude Code into a single interface. It tracks quota usage across accounts and implements smart routing logic that can prioritize certain models and automatically switch to alternatives if a primary service becomes unavailable. The application also simplifies setup of AI tools and local language models through one-click installation and deployment.

EchoBird runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux as a desktop application built with Tauri and Rust. It suits developers who work with multiple AI services simultaneously and need centralized account switching without manual intervention between tools. The multi-model routing with failover is particularly valuable for teams or workflows where service availability matters and cost optimization across different providers is a concern.

The project shows active development with regular releases available for download. The maintainers maintain a public issue tracker on GitHub while directing users to the project website for product information and announcements, suggesting a structured approach to community engagement and support channels.
