Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

Whiteboard is a desktop application that provides a canvas for humans and AI agents to collaborate on software design and architecture together.

The tool addresses the gap between high-level design discussions and implementation by creating a shared workspace where agents like Claude Code or Codex can visualize their work through diagrams, sequence charts, and entity relationship diagrams. When you click on these visualizations, you can jump directly to the underlying code. The application includes an AST-aware semantic diff viewer built in Rust that filters noise from standard diffs by summarizing large added functions as pseudocode and hiding less relevant changes like tests and documentation by default. This diff behavior is customizable through a WASM-based plugin system. Whiteboard also maintains a decision log to track architectural choices throughout the design process.

Whiteboard suits teams that want to involve AI agents in architectural discussions while keeping humans in control of decisions. It works best when paired with capable models and integrates with existing tools through an SDK that agents can use to draw on the canvas. The tool is particularly valuable for code reviews, API design discussions, and understanding changes to complex systems where visual representation clarifies intent. It runs as a native desktop application on macOS, Windows, and Linux, with code navigation powered by VSCode's keybindings and language server protocol support.

The project maintains active development with regular updates to its roadmap and an engaged community channel. Work focuses on improving the system prompts that guide agent behavior, expanding plugin capabilities, and refining the semantic diff viewer to handle more code patterns intelligently.
