Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 18, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

How this project is maintained

Detailed Description

Netavark is a container network stack that configures networking for Linux containers.

The tool solves the problem of managing container network interfaces, firewall rules, and DNS resolution by accepting JSON configuration files and applying the necessary system-level changes. It handles interface creation including MACVLAN networks, NAT and port forwarding through firewall configuration, and DNS resolution integration. The project supports both firewalld and nftables as firewall backends, accommodates rootless containers, and provides dual-stack networking with IPv4 and IPv6 support.

Netavark is designed primarily for use with Podman but can integrate with other OCI container management systems. It suits projects that need programmatic control over container networking through configuration files rather than imperative commands. The tool is written in Rust and requires Podman 4.0 or later along with standard build dependencies including the Rust toolchain and protoc.

The project maintains active issue and pull request tracking on GitHub for bug reports and feature discussions. Development follows a defined minimum supported Rust version policy, with the project tested against specific Rust versions and a commitment to fix build issues on newer versions. The codebase includes a plugin system allowing external plugins to extend functionality through a documented plugin API.
