Detailed Description

Google Chinese Results Blocklist is a curated blacklist of spam and low-quality websites that appear in Google and Baidu search results.

The project addresses the problem of spam sites cluttering search results for Chinese-language queries. It maintains lists of domains and URL patterns that users can subscribe to through browser extensions. The blocklist is organized into multiple subscription formats: exact domain matching that filters results with minimal false positives, fuzzy pattern matching that catches more spam but risks blocking legitimate sites, and a separate list for Baidu-specific filtering. Users integrate these lists into uBlacklist for Google searches or AC-baidu for Baidu searches.

The tool suits anyone conducting Chinese-language searches who wants to filter out known spam domains and content farms. It works best for users comfortable with browser extensions and willing to manually adjust rules if the fuzzy matching occasionally blocks sites they need. The project explicitly notes that exact matching is preferred for reliability, while fuzzy matching trades precision for broader coverage.

The maintainer collects entries from personal Google searches and community submissions, but update frequency is not guaranteed. The maintainer has shifted to using an alternative search engine, which further reduces the pace of list maintenance.
