Recursive Mono & Sans is a variable font family designed for code and user interface environments.

The project addresses the need for typefaces that work well in programming contexts while maintaining visual appeal. Recursive uses a three-axis variable font system controlling weight, slant, and expression (ranging from casual to strict letterforms). The Sans variant uses superplexed metrics, meaning every style occupies the same horizontal space regardless of weight or slant, eliminating text shifts and layout reflow when styles change. This constraint-based approach enables fluid typographic transitions in interactive interfaces while keeping the typeface practical for extended reading in code editors and applications.

Developers working on code editors, terminal applications, or UI systems where typography needs to adapt dynamically should consider this font. The superplexed metrics make it particularly valuable for interfaces that change font weight or style interactively without disrupting layout. The font supports a modified Google Fonts Latin Expert character set including currency symbols and mathematical operators, plus additional language support.
