Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 11, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits. How this is counted.

Detailed Description

Walker is a multi-purpose application launcher built with GTK4 and Rust for Linux desktop environments.

Walker solves the problem of needing a fast, unified interface for launching applications and performing various system tasks. It works by providing a customizable launcher that integrates with a provider system called Elephant, allowing users to access different functionality through prefixed commands. The tool supports launching desktop applications, running shell commands, performing calculations with the equals prefix, browsing files with the forward slash prefix, searching the web, accessing clipboard history with the colon prefix, picking symbols with the period prefix, and managing Bluetooth, passwords, bookmarks, and todo items. It also integrates with window managers like Niri and can function as a dmenu replacement.

Walker suits developers and power users on Linux who want a single launcher for multiple purposes and value customization and speed. The tool is particularly well-suited for those using Wayland-based desktop environments and those already familiar with prefix-based command systems. Installation is available through building from source or using Nix, with support for both Home Manager and NixOS modules. The project requires GTK4 version 4.6 or later and depends on the separate Elephant provider system running alongside it.

The project shows active development with regular feature additions across diverse functionality areas including system integration providers like Wireplumber for audio and Niri for window management, password manager support through Bitwarden and 1Password, and package management for Arch Linux. Development maintains responsiveness to user requests for new providers and capabilities while keeping the core launcher performant. The codebase demonstrates attention to user experience through features like socket-based launching for faster startup when running as a service and comprehensive configuration options through Nix.
