Detailed Description

TorrServer is a torrent streaming server that enables users to watch torrent content online without downloading files beforehand.

The tool solves the problem of having to download entire torrent files before viewing them. It works by caching torrent data and streaming it via HTTP, with cache size adjustable based on system resources and connection speed. This approach allows immediate playback of torrent content across multiple devices while the necessary portions are downloaded on demand.

TorrServer suits users who want to stream torrents directly to various devices without managing large local downloads. The project includes a modern web interface, API integration capabilities, Torznab search support for indexer managers like Jackett and Prowlarr, optional DLNA server functionality, and optional GStreamer-based HLS remuxing and transcoding. It also provides a native MCP server for AI agent integration. The tool is available as standard binaries for multiple platforms, with optional GStreamer variants for enhanced media handling on Windows, Linux, and macOS.

The project maintains active development with regular releases including new features such as GStreamer builds and MCP server support. Build automation is in place with GitHub Actions workflows for Docker image generation. The codebase is written in Go and welcomes contributions, with the project distributed across multiple platform targets and architectures to serve diverse deployment scenarios.
