Detailed Description

wgcf is a cross-platform CLI tool for accessing Cloudflare Warp, the VPN and DNS service offered through the 1.1.1.1 application.

The tool solves the problem of using Cloudflare Warp outside the official mobile and desktop applications by providing command-line access to core Warp functionality. It works by registering new Warp accounts, generating WireGuard configuration profiles from those accounts, and managing Warp+ subscriptions through license keys. Users can check their account status and verify that Warp connectivity is functioning correctly.

The tool suits developers and power users who need programmatic or terminal-based access to Warp, or who want to use Warp on systems where the official client is unavailable. It is particularly useful for those with existing Warp+ subscriptions purchased through the official app who want to extend that subscription across additional devices. The README documents a known Cloudflare bug affecting existing accounts that have previously connected to Warp; users encountering this issue must register a fresh account and immediately bind their license key without running other commands in between.

The project maintains active issue tracking and receives ongoing attention to bugs and compatibility concerns. Development includes documentation of known platform-specific limitations and workarounds, indicating sustained engagement with real-world usage problems. The codebase is written in Go and distributed as pre-compiled binaries across multiple platforms.
