Detailed Description

Huawei CSI Driver is a Container Storage Interface plugin that enables Kubernetes to provision and manage storage from Huawei enterprise and distributed storage systems.

The plugin implements the CSI standard to bridge Kubernetes container workloads with Huawei storage products. It handles communication between the container orchestration layer and Huawei storage arrays, allowing dynamic provisioning of block and file storage volumes for containerized applications. The driver operates as a mandatory component for organizations deploying Huawei storage alongside Kubernetes environments.

Adoption makes sense for teams already committed to Huawei storage infrastructure who need native Kubernetes integration. It is purpose-built for Huawei enterprise storage and distributed storage systems, so it is the appropriate choice only if your storage backend is from that vendor. The plugin works with Kubernetes and RedHat OpenShift as container orchestration platforms. The README does not compare this implementation to alternative CSI drivers.

The project maintains active release cycles with packaged distributions available through its releases section. Documentation is provided in the repository's docs directory and supplemented by a dedicated user guide for deployment and configuration guidance.
