Maintainer activity

3 people did triage or write work on this repository in the last 12 months.

Counts unlabeled, assigned, unassigned, milestoned, demilestoned, locked, unlocked over the last 12 months. These are issue and pull request events that require triage or write permission. Commits and code review are not counted. labeled and renamed are excluded because GitHub issue forms record the issue author as the actor. Figures from October 11, 2026. This count is not comparable across projects: each project's automation decides which of these events a person emits.

How this project is maintained

Work labelled "scope: deploy" is answered fastest, typically in about 7 days, while "scope: common" waits about 59 months. Three people close 96% of everything that gets resolved.

Detailed Description

werf is a CLI tool for implementing full-cycle CI/CD to Kubernetes that integrates Git, Dockerfile, Helm, and Buildah into a unified delivery workflow.

The tool addresses the complexity of managing container image builds, testing, deployment, and registry cleanup as separate concerns. It works by accepting Dockerfile and Helm chart configurations familiar to most teams, then orchestrating the complete application lifecycle: building and publishing images with automatic content-based tagging and caching, deploying to Kubernetes with enhanced resource tracking, and cleaning up container registries using a distinctive approach that prevents orphaned artifacts. The system integrates with any CI platform and leverages Git as a source of truth.

Teams should adopt werf if they want to reduce boilerplate and manual orchestration across their CI/CD pipeline while staying within conventional tooling. It suits projects already using Dockerfiles and Helm, particularly those deploying to Kubernetes at scale where registry bloat and deployment consistency matter. The tool is production-ready and has been deployed across thousands of projects since its inception. Documentation includes guides for popular frameworks including Node.js, Spring Boot, Django, Rails, and Laravel, making it accessible to teams across different technology stacks.

Development activity shows consistent engagement with the community through GitHub Discussions and Stack Overflow, where maintainers actively respond to questions. The project maintains a Code of Conduct and adheres to open source best practices as recognized by relevant certification programs. Issues posted to GitHub are processed carefully, indicating structured attention to bug reports and feature requests.
