Detailed Description

Metorial is an identity and access layer for AI agents that connects them to over 1200 integrations through a unified control plane.

The problem Metorial addresses is the lack of consistent security infrastructure when agents interact with production systems. Currently, teams wire integrations ad hoc without standardized auth, permissions, or auditing. Metorial sits between agents and external systems to handle authentication, token lifecycle management, role-based access control, and observability in a centralized way. It supports OAuth, API keys, service accounts, and other credential flows while enforcing scoped permissions per agent, workflow, team, or environment. All agent actions are logged with full traceability of which agent acted and whose credentials were used.

Teams should adopt Metorial if they need to give AI agents access to production systems while maintaining security policies and audit requirements. It suits organizations where multiple teams or projects need to reuse integrations without reimplementing auth logic each time. The tool is particularly valuable for those using agent frameworks like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, as it provides a single interface instead of breaking security policies with one-off integrations. The platform offers both a hosted option and a self-hostable open-source core engine, giving teams flexibility in deployment.

Development is organized around SDKs that expose the Metorial API and integrate with agent frameworks, handling auth and tool exposure consistently across different agent implementations.
